Welcome to eMergent Publishing

eMergent Publishing was founded as a cutting edge Anglo-Australian small press by authors Paul Anderson and Jodi Cleghorn in 2009. We seek to find new permutations and relevance for the short story in the rapidly changing digital landscape. Innovation in story-telling and publishing are at the core of eMergent’s business model.

Committed to emerging writers, eMergent seeks to marry the convenience of digital platforms and social networking with old-fashioned editorial know-how and community values to produce stories and anthologies which intrigue, surprise and excite readers.

eMergent produces conceptual fiction anthologies which push the boundaries of form and structure, publishing genre and literary short fiction in both digital and paperback under three imprints: Literary Mix Tapes, Chinese Whisperings and the title imprint eMergent. In 2013 the first of the Pandora’s Paradoxes, The Machine Who Was Also A Boy, was released signalling the first step away from short fiction.

Mid-2014 will see the unveiling of the next evolution of eMergent as a dedicated Australian small press with Jodi Cleghorn at the helm as publishing editor.
